Fostering a Partnership Between Sheriff's Department and the Community

Public safety is not the sole responsibility of law enforcement; it is a shared partnership with the community. Charles Evans is a strong proponent of community policing initiatives that break down barriers and build relationships between officers and the residents they protect. By fostering open communication, mutual respect, and collaborative problem-solving through programs like neighborhood watches and police-community forums, we create a powerful alliance against crime. When police and citizens work together as a team, our neighborhoods become safer, and our city becomes stronger.

Family is His Foundation

For Charles Evans, everything begins and ends with family. It is the bedrock of his values, the source of his strength, and the moral compass that guides every decision he makes, both in his personal life and in public service. He believes that the lessons learned around the family dinner table, hard work, integrity, looking out for one another, and keeping your promises are the same principles that build a strong and healthy community. His commitment to his own family is the wellspring of his desire to serve yours, ensuring that Fayetteville remains a place where all families feel safe, supported, and valued.

BOLD&INTENTIONAL LEADERSHIP BOLD&INTENTIONAL LEADERSHIP

Charles Evans isn’t just a representative in Cumberland County; he’s a product of Fayetteville. Born and raised on these streets, he has a lifelong understanding of our city’s unique character—from the pride of our history to the challenges of our future. His decisions are guided not by political theory, but by lived experience: knowing which roads flood after a hard rain, which neighborhoods need safer parks for their kids, and the names of the small business owners who are the backbone of our community. For Charles, serving Cumberland County is personal. It’s about ensuring the city that raised him continues to be a place where the next generation can build a life and be proud to call home.

Charles Evans Thank you, my friend.

You played a significant role in my journey from the very beginning-when my parents first introduced me to the Fayetteville Junior Police Drill Team as a kid. You were the first leader I met in the Fayetteville community, and even then, your leadership never wavered. Look at all that you’ve accomplished since. I’m truly proud of you, my friend.

I would like to say when he was of a commissioner I can truly say that he helped me and my community 100%. He is a good worker. He represents Cumberland County very well and I am praying that he become our commissioner again. He’s a hard-working young man and and he will do whatever he have to do he will do whatever he can do for the citizens of Cumberland County I can say that because he have helped me 100% whenever I needed him he was right there. I had a sick husband I couldn’t get help from him anyway I called him. He got in his vehicle and went all the way to Raleigh, North Carolina to take my paperwork and I appreciate him then and I appreciate him now so we are looking forward for him to become our County commissioner again.
